Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, set in 124 acres of landscaped gardens, this five star resort complex comprises of three hotels, with a total of 680 luxurious bedrooms, 19 restaurants and bars and a wide range of recreational facilities available. From rejuvenating treatments at the Chi Spa, saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzi and plunge pools to aerobics classes at the gymnasium. The resort has 6000 square metres of swimming pools as well as a 500 metre "lazy" river, and children's and toddlers swimming pools.
Recreation Facilities
Little Turtles Kids Club: Located in Al Waha Hotel in the heart of the resort, Little Turtles provides both air-conditioned indoor and outdoor play areas, both under trained supervision. Children up to the age of eight years old are welcome to use Little Turtles , children under the age of four years should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Little Turtles is open from 8am to 8pm.
Lazy River: Meander your way between Al Waha, Al Bandar on inflatable tubes along the Lazy River, inspired by the centuries-old Falaj system that brought fresh water to remote Omani villages. The Lazy River is open daily from 9.30am to 7pm.
Adventure Zone: An exciting family entertainment venue for all thrill seekers with a variety of modular play areas from Over/Under Hurdles, Tumble Tower and Swing Over Net to a climbing wall, soft play areas and daily Nintendo Wii Sports challenges. The highlights are the three Drop Slides providing fun and adventure for all, with the ultimate 6.5m Demon Drop slide. Adventure Zone also offers party rooms for our younger guests celebrating that special day. Located in the Al Mazaar souk adjacent to the Omani Heritage Village. It is open daily from 10am to 10pm.
Splashpad: Newly opened water play area, which is a complimentary facility for in-house guests only. This facility is for children and adults alike and features more than 20 water activities in a fully shaded area, allowing use throughout the day. It is a zero depth pool area, which contains no standing water – different water movements come from a combination of flowing, misting and jetting, while surface water is channeled away. No lifeguards are present in the area. It is open daily from 9am to 7pm.
CHI, The Spa: Designed as a secluded spa, CHI, The Spa allows guests to enjoy the privacy and luxury of the largest spa villas in Muscat, complete with spacious relaxation areas that include a private garden patio and a garden rain shower. Guests can also book the Rhassul and Hammam to truly unwind and relax. It is open daily from 10am to 10pm.
Sailing: In partnership with Oman Sail, the hotel now offers a daily sailing programme, with private lessons, boat hire and dedicated children’s club sessions, three days a week. Further information will be provided on request.
